Costas joined Gault Mitchell Law in 2002. He has been a Partner since 2004 and Managing Partner of the firm since 2014.
Costas specialises in civil litigation and dispute resolution (negotiation and mediation). He regularly appears in Courts, Tribunals and Authorities around New Zealand and advises on a wide range of disputes.
Before joining Gault Mitchell Law, Costas acted for the Crown on various criminal prosecutions and civil claims for four years and also worked in London for one year.
Costas is married with two young children. He enjoys most sports, particularly playing, coaching and watching soccer. He is closely involved with the local Cypriot and Greek communities.
Qualifications
Costas studied at Auckland University and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA). Costas completed the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills Programme in 1998 and has more recently been a faculty member for the Litigations Skills Programme. Costas was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1996.
